La vittima si chiamava Melissa James ed è stata strangolata e portata in mezzo al deserto con la macchina della Ryan per poi essere bruciata...

Bodybuilder tests positive for steroids

National title-holder to appear on charges of violating his release.

LAFAYETTE — A national title-holding bodybuilder will appear in federal court Thursday on charges that he violated his supervised release by testing positive for steroids.
Craig Michael Titus, 32, of California, will appear before U.S. District Judge Rebecca Doherty at 11:30 a.m. Thursday for a hearing to determine whether his supervised release should be revoked.
The hearing was called after Titus, who won the men's heavyweight and overall titles for his division during the June 1996 National Physique Committee USA Championships, tested positive seven times for anabolic steroids, according to attorneys in the case. The random drug tests were given between October 1996 and February 1997.
But Titus, who turned professional in the sport about two years ago, denies any steroid use after his October 1995 sentencing, his Lafayette attorney Greg Thibodeaux said Tuesday.
"He could test positive for steroids because they remain in the (body) for up to 24 months," Thibodeaux said. "We're going to argue that if he did test positive, then these drugs had been in his system for many months."
Titus pleaded guilty in April 1995 here to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 950 tablets of 3,4 methylenedioxy-methamphetamine, also known as "ecstasy."
Titus had express-mailed the hallucinogenic drugs to a New Iberia resident on Sept. 7, 1994, according to court documents.
Doherty sentenced him in October 1995 to eight months incarceration, which was to be served in a half-way house, and another eight months of home confinement.
In addition, Doherty sentenced Titus to three years of supervised release and 300 hours of community service. He began serving the sentence Nov. 1,1995.

While serving his sentence, Titus aided a federal investigation into the "large scale systematic" theft of steroids from the U.S. Department of the Navy by making undercover phone calls to people responsible for the thefts, court records show.
As a result, the government asked Doherty in September 1996 to reduce Titus' sentence. Doherty denied the government's motion Oct. 2,1996, court records show.

Titus' first positive drug screen was Oct. 15, 1996 — just 13 days later.
Thibodeaux said the timing is not significant because Oct. 15 was the first time Titus had been given a steroid drug test.
