Tracy McGrady would like to sign with the 2010 NBA champion Lakers, and has forwarded that sentiment to his agent and close colleagues, according to sources within the Lakers' front office.
Tracy McGrady, a perennial All-Star and two-time NBA Scoring champion, has undergone a significant hit to his reputation after failed stints in Toronto, Orlando, and Houston. To date, McGrady has not gone past the first-round in the NBA playoffs.
After having battled various knee and back injuries in the past couple years, Tracy McGrady has been working himself back into shape under the strenuous regimen of esteemed athletic trainer Tim Grover. Now that he has finished his physical rehabilitation program, McGrady is feeling rejuvenated enough to make a return in the 2010-2011 NBA season.
Despite having limited intentions to use the Mid-Level Exception this summer, Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak would consider pulling the trigger on the seven-time All-Star swingman should he accept a paycut at the MLE. Ron Artest, the defensive-minded role player who played a huge factor in this year's Lakers-Celtics NBA Finals, has reached out to McGrady to "end his career as a champion."
The Lakers are willing to explore a potential reunion of former Houston teammates Ron Artest and Tracy McGrady once the July 1 free agency begins.
In Los Angeles, Tracy McGrady would be asked to come off the bench as a role player, similar to what Lakers' forward Lamar Odom has done in the past two seasons. McGrady would provide the Lakers' bench unit with some offensive firepower and stability, and be another deadly weapon in the already loaded Lakers' arsenal.
Most importantly, the acquisition of Tracy McGrady would address the important need for a secondary slasher besides Kobe Bryant. As advocated by Laker great Jerry West, "I think they do need some changes. If you look, they have some free agents that are coming up but the thing that would most concern me is I think they need someone else other than Kobe Bryant getting in the lane."
Moreover, unlike former teams in which he was asked to carry the team throughout the entire season, Tracy McGrady understands that a potential role with the Lakers would not require such an emotionally draining position of leadership. McGrady has tremendous respect for the reigning Finals MVP Kobe Bryant, and has made it known that he would gladly accept a lesser role to play alongside whom he considers the best basketball player in the world.
As expressed by one high-ranked official within the Lakers' management, should Tracy McGrady not return to the New York Knicks next season or spurn retirement, "expect the deal to get done by end of July."

Per il discorso spazio salariale dei Celtics, se dovessero andare via Garnett ed Allen, uno spazio per un grande nome si forma.
Ora, io non conosco bene il valore dei contratti, però vedrei davvero bene ai Celtics Stoudemire (anche perché sono un suo estimatore), si formerebbero di nuovo i big3 con lui, Rondo e Pierce, ma anche questo è fantabasket.
Magari si potrebbe cercare di avere un altro tiratore, tipo Korver, anche se sembra essere un giocatore abbastanza conteso.

Ovviamente sarebbe un sogno, 15-20 minuti dalla panchina (se sta bene fisicamente) sarebbero un extralusso. Ha un talento enorme, sa crearsi punti da solo (cosa che nei momenti di kobe on the bench ci serve come il pane) ed è pur sempre il cugino di vincredible
Il problema è quel "se", è troppo fragile.
Altri nomi vicini ai lakers sono blake e miller, vedremo. Penso che la prima cosa da fare sia trovare un pm, per dare a fisher minuti in panca e soprattutto per avere qualcuno per il dopo fish, dato che farmar se ne andrà e brown più che saltare non fa. Poi ci serve un 2-3 per far sedere kobe (vujacic non penso sarà all'altezza), e in questo caso tmac (ma anche miller) mi andrebbe bene, ma il sogno sarebbe reddick. E infine ci serve un quarto lungo, sia powell che mbenga sembrano destinati ad andar via, e in questo spot andrebbe bene ilgauskas, che anche se 35 enne fa ancora il suo lavoro. Sempre che bynum decida di star bene se no bisogna pensare a qualcuno di più incisivo.

Qualche anno fa sarebbe stto un sogno, ora difficile a dire. Anche se dovesse arrivare secondo me sarebbe una grossa incognita...
Stoudemire mi è sempre piaciuto molto ed è freeagent, arrivasse lui farebbe di LA una corazzata imbattibile! ma direi che si rischia di sforare leggermente il salary cap

Da questo punto di vista si vocifera di un possibile scambio Bynum - Bosh.
Per Toronto sarebbe manna, perché così potrebbero valorizzare sia il Turco (anche se ha chiesto di essere ceduto) che Bargnani, senza avere un centro un po' atipico come Bosh.
In questo momento tutto sommato i Lakers ci guadagnerebbero, perché Bosh è un giocatore franchigia, però per il futuro non saprei...

Lo scambio bynum-bosh sarebbe da folli, per diverse ragioni.
Bosh non è una superstar. E' un all star, mette i suoi punti, però ha grandissimi limiti in difesa (e LAL soprattutto durante i po si è dimostrato un defensive team). Inoltre, è abituato ad essere la principale (se non unica) soluzione offensiva della squadra, cosa che ai lakers non sarebbe possibile. Lui stesso ha dichiarato che vuole continuare ad essere l'uomo-franchigia (cosa che può fare, a mio parere, solo in squadrette) e che quindi se cambia, cambia per andare in un'altra squadra in cui lui rimanga il perno centrale. Poi, Bosh non ha mai giocato una serie importante di PO, e sotto pressione sbarella alla grande.
Bynum ha solo 23 anni, ha già 4 anni di esperienza, mani educatissime, enormi margini di miglioramento. Se (ed è un SE grande come una casa) le ginocchia ritornano al loro posto, può diventare il centro più dominante dei prossimi 10 anni.
Per me come scambio è pura follia, anche per quanto riguarda l'inserimento nella squadra. Ce lo vedete Gasol a giocare insieme a Bosh? sono due quasi doppioni, soprattutto ora che il catalano sta migliorando il tiro dalla media.
Se devo dare bynum, è per un centro giovane di prospettiva PIU' un ottimo play, non certo per bosh

Non difende ( a dispetto di quanto possano far pensare alcune statistiche),raddoppiato non scarica mai,i tiri decisivi non li mette quasi mai...per me potrebbe essere un ottimo secondo violino.Deve capire che Wade Melo e company sono di un'altra categoria rispetto a lui.
LA non credo andrà a prendere grossi calibri.Ha 6 giocatori di altissimo livello,la pecca sta in panca...è li che va messo qualche altro buon elemento da usare nelle rotazioni.TMac sarebbe un'ipotesi affascinante anche se la vedo difficile considerando il salary cap che va a scendere.
Occhio a New Jersy che ha già adesso buoni talenti,ha grosso fascino e una quarantina di milioni per prendere 2 grossi calibri.
Wade lo vedo troppo bene a Miami,magari con un AG a fargli compagnia....Bosh,Boozer,Stat....e dovrebbe avanzargli qualche milioncino per un altro buon giocatore.
Beasley o mette la testa a posto o sarà sacrificato....
Intanto i Bucks hanno messo già dentro due buonissimi giocatori su una squadra che non era niente male ....
