Branch non mi è mai piaciuto, ma tanto rispetto x questo atleta."everybody wanna be a bodybuilder but nobody wanna lift this heavy ass weight!!!"

Arnold Classic 2015
The Report Card
The outcome of the 2015 Arnold Classic threw up more questions than answers. Here’s a post-mortem on each competitor.
1st, Dexter Jackson: Cements his position as the most extraordinary and accomplished bodybuilder ever in terms of quality consistency and longevity. Now into his 17th season as a pro his record reads: 72 contests; 21 wins including one Olympia and five Arnold titles; 65 top five finishes. For the first time he – at age 45 –is hinting at retirement. Doubtful if we’ll ever see someone else be a top pro for such a lengthy span.
2nd, Branch Warren: Proved that his warrior credentials are for real. He improved on his 6thplace Olympia look and came in even harder. Underscored his experience by playing to his strengths – side poses – and camouflaging a midsection and lower back lacking detail.
3rd, Justin Compton: Twelve pounds heavier than his winning form in Orlando last April, he was probably just too heavy. Lacked the detail, and crispness he had last time out. Still he served notice (with his knockout frame, small joints, massive muscle bellies, proportionate development) that he is one for the future. This is basically the first time the 26 year old has failed to sustain an upward curve. But this could be a good thing: he’s smart and will learn from this contest prep. Gaining experience is the art of making mistakes and learning from them.
4th, Cedric McMillan: If he ever got into 100 % condition he would be just about unbeatable. For six years we’ve been waiting for his potential to explode into true WTF greatness. Thus, the verdict must be it isn’t ever going to happen. However, his posing routine was brilliant. He held old school poses, which highlighted and milked each fiber of his amazing musculature. It was like watching a photo shoot – just brilliant.
5th, Evan Centopani: Came in at his biggest but didn't have the Wow! Factor we expected. Sharpened up in the evening but it was too late.
6th, Roelly Winklaar: His physique had a, “Damn, I thought the contest was April 7th, I didn’t know it was today” look about it. Really have to say that Roelly finishing as high as sixth was an indictment of how poor the standard of this contest fell off after the first four or five.
7th, Brandon Curry: Appeared smaller and flatter than we’ve seen him as a pro.
8th, Ben Pakulski: Just not the Pac-Man that starred here in 2012 and 2013. Lacked the skin splitting muscularity of that time and seemed down in dimensions.
9th, Vitaley Fateev: One bright spark among a burnt out landscape. The Russian was big, hard, pretty well proportioned and densely muscled throughout. Should have been sixth at least.
10th, Toney Freeman: Too soft to make his X-frame excel.
11th, Marius Dohne: Flatter than his best showing of last year but should have been a few places higher.
12th, Lionel Beyeke: Another repeat of his “has all the bodyparts but lacks contest condition” showings.
13th, Michael Kefalianos: Did not attain the super shredded look that has vaulted him up the placings in past showings.
CONCLUSION
Overall the eventual scenario played out at the 2015 Arnold Classic has become all too familiar of late: The majority of competitors just not being in contest shape. By that it is meant not missing their peak by a degree or two but being off by quite a margin. Building quality muscle is achieved by hard work and genetic bestowment. Not everyone has an equal opportunity. Achieving contest condition is a much more even handed affair: A process much more easily mastered via not getting too big in the offseason, strict dieting, cardio and being prepared to suffer in the run-in to the contest. Why such condition continues to elude so many is a mystery?
