    Buon giorno from Australia !

    Hello from down under,

    Why the hell am I here you ask !? Well I came across this place while looking for interviews with Rocco Sifredi I took a look around (I can't speak/read Italian) and noticed this place has a good vibe and knowledgable people

    I am 19, and would like to get myself in shape. I don't like my genetics very much. Basically I store all my fat on my ass, chest and stomach. My arms are twigs I have a body fat caliper which thinks I'm ~18-24% BF. I would basically like to look cut up with some nice muscle. My legs and calves are big compared to my upper body and I look retarded My back is alright, except I lack muscle in between my shoulder blades. I used to be really fit and slim when I was 14, since then I have always been a bit fat and now its time to see if I have a 6-pack under my fat My main problem is deciding whether to cut or bulk, some people say you can do it both at the same time. I'm undecided and need some advice. I'm not sure whether I should be lifting weights and going for a run afterwards, or bulking and cutting seperately. My diet has been messed up for the past 4 years (I ate lollies to supress my apetite) so even though I weigh 88 kilos (I'm 6ft2) when I counted the calories I was eating it = ~2200 max. I am hopeing to stay here and post my progress and maybe learn some Italian while I'm here. (I learnt it for a year when I was 9 ). What advice/questions do you guys have for me, I'm ready to get going. Thanks

      Hi StyleWars, welcome on this forum

      If you really are at about 18-20% of BF, I would suggest you to start cutting right now and, once all the rubbish is gone, you can start back bulking.
      In my opinion, the easiest way to do it would be to keep your nutrtion on check (as the most important step) and then running (or cardio in general) at about 65% of your maximum heart rate for a maximum of 30-40 mins after your weights workout.

                  Thank you for the reponse. I would love to be able to respond to the other comments but my Italian is still weak I will start with your suggestions now. I'm going to cut out junk food except maybe once a week and try eat the 6 meals a day. How many weights/cardio sessions should I be doing a week? I can split cardio up and do it on its own day if I need to ??

                    Hi and welcome back

                    I personally find that the most efficient results in terms of fat loss are obtainable through a 3 or 4-times-a-week weights and cardio routine, where cardio consists in doing 30-40 mins max at roughly 65% of your maximum heart rate and the weights routine is split up so that you hit each body part at least 1 time a week.

                          I forgot to add: cardio should be done just after the weights workout, and the weights workout itself should be done at a high intensity for a maximum of 45-60 mins. If after you do cardio at the intensity I said before, for 30-40 mins, your fat-burning furnace should be firing up really nice
