Degussa BioActives Prosecutes Suit To End False Creatine Claims

On August 1, 2002, the United States District Court for the Central District of California entered an Order requiring prompt action in a suit filed by a U.S. subsidiary of Degussa BioActives on February 15, 2002 against Muscle Marketing USA, Inc. This suit asks the U.S. court to force Muscle Marketing to stop making, and to correct, false claims about powdered creatine, a nutritional supplement that enhances exercise performance. Degussa BioActives US Sales, Inc. is a 100% subsidiary of Degussa BioActives, based in Champaign, Illinois. Muscle Marketing, based in Bell, California, sells liquid creatine, which it calls creatine serum.

As the market leader for powdered creatine, under the CreapureTM brand, Degussa BioActives will not accept any company making what we believe to be scientifically false claims about creatine in either powder or liquid forms. State of the art analytical methods prove that the Muscle Marketing USA Creatine Serum products contain only very small amounts of creatine, and in fact contain more of an undesirable degradation product, creatinine.

The suit outlines what are believed to be five false, deceptive and misleading claims made by Muscle Marketing in its advertising and online materials and requests a permanent injunction and damages.

Degussa BioActives is also asking the court to require Muscle Marketing to publish advertisements to correct the deceptive statements. The claims and statements made by Muscle Marketing regarding the relative safety and effectiveness of creatine powder and creatine serum are believed to be materially false and misleading.

Consumer Class Action
In a separate class action, filed on August 9, 2002 Muscle Marketing USA is charged with deception of the consuming public by making false and unsupported claims regarding such products which are in fact contradicted by three types of studies demonstrating the falsity of such claims. The action is brought on behalf of consumers who purchased Muscle Marketing USA’s Creatine Serum Products.

According to this independently brought Complaint, published research demonstrates that the accused Creatine Serum Products marketed by Muscle Marketing USA do not result in any increase of blood levels of creatine after ingestion and "have no beneficial effect on muscle growth or athletic performance".

The Class Action Complaint demands that Muscle Marketing USA be permanently enjoined from selling their Creatine Serum Products by means of fraudulent, false, deceptive, and misleading means, and demands restitution of all monies received by Muscle Marketing USA as a result of sales of such products.

The charges brought against Muscle Marketing USA in the independent class action complaint are similar to those earlier brought by Degussa BioActives and provide additional support for those claims.

Sì,
però sembra che hanno avuto ragione loro ( http://www.creatine.com/news.php ) ed anzi stanno spingendo per uno studio sugli effetti dannosi delle creatine in polvere (ovvio che questo li porterebbe davanti a tutti perchè stanno brevettando questa creatina "liquida" e segherebbero le gambe a tuttii produttori di crea in polvere se gli studi risultassero dimostrare problemi con quella in polvere).

Insomma,
dove c'è info chiara e diversi link sono tentato a credere in una buona fede.

possono pur avere ragione per qualche cavillo ma la sostanza è che il prodotto contiene poca roba e che non è stabile.

Si è molto serio e professionale, ogni tanto cerco di farlo ridere su MsN ma non mi da segni di divertimento

Tornado alla creatina, se stai facendo un periodo di definizione/dimagrimento te la sconsiglio, almeno a me, tende ad appannare e gonfiarmi un pochetto in viso.
La cosa fantastica di questo integratore alimentare, è che diminuisce il tempo di recupero muscolare.

Ultima cosa i dosaggi, io "caricavo" nei primi 3-4 giorni 15gr. di prodotto e la portavo a 5gr durante i 40giorni successivi.

No Chomog,
non sonoin definizione.
Il mese di Febbraio ho fatto la LowCarb + Circuit Training perchè venivo da DUE ANNI di zero attività e mangiate di merda.
Quindi volevo "scuotere" il metabolismo e riabituare tutti i muscoli a lavorare.
Ma da Marzo ho iniziato diretto per la massa e così tiro avanti fino a metà Giugno.
Poi da metà Giugno fino a fine Agosto mi preoccuperò di ascigarmi un pò.

Se parto ora con la definizione che me metto a fà la massa a Maggio così faccio la balena arenata in spiaggia???

Ma difatti non è che "difendo" una posizione, ed ho chiesto un vostro parere perchè voglio sentirlo e non per convincere nessuno.

Posso solo dire che:
- visto il dettaglio e la trasparenza delle notizie sulloro prodotto (ivi comprese lo stato della causa sulla creatina) mi sembra un buon indice di serietà;
- essendomi avvicinato al loro prodotto con più dubbi che esaltazione (quindi con ben poco rischio di effetto placebo), ed aver invece riscontrato risultati evidentemente non è solo acqua colorata

Per il resto non credo ai preparati miracolosi, alle scoperte rivoluzionarie ne quando a supporto portano riviste mediche di piccolo taglio.

Preso forse 1Kg/1,5Kg.
Ma non posso imputarlo con certezza alla creatina perchè dal 25 Febbraio ho ripreso coi Carbo mentre la creatina la prendo da 5gg.

Sicuramente un aiuto ce l'ho avuto proprio dal reintrodurre carbo, ma la progressione nei pesi sollevati e la riduzione dei tempi di riposo è stata continua e grossa negli gli utlimi 3 workout (avvenuti proprio con uso della stessa).

Direi che, conoscendo il mio fisico, mi sento sicuro nel poter dire che non è solo per la pasta.
Ovvio però che magari lo stesso effetto lo ottenevo con una creatina in polvere.

Ultimo appunto, esattamente come consigliato da loro, non ho effettuato sovradossaggio iniziale.
Ma mi sono mantenuto per 5gg consecutivi a 5/6gr. Presi in due razioni che, nei giorni di workout, erano immediatamente precedenti ed immediatamente successive al lavoro muscolare stesso.
