                    Does 6 mg/kg sound like a big dose of caffeine to you? One kilogram (kg) = 2.2 pounds (lb). A 180-lb (81.8-kg) man would therefore be taking 491 mg of caffeine at this dose. According to various internet sites (e.g. reference 1, below), this is a little more caffeine than you’ll find inside a venti cup of Starbucks coffee. Caffeine is a standard ingredient in most pre-workout and weight-loss supplements. Widespread is the belief that caffeine must be included in order to give consumers the sensation that the product is “working” soon after consuming it. The amount of caffeine used in pre-workout and weight-loss supplements can range from 100 to over 300 mg per serving. Caffeine can clearly increase your perceived energy level and alertness (or at least get it back to “normal” following caffeine withdrawal; see bel0w), but scientists have found it difficult to consistently show that it increases strength.
                    Astorino et al. (2) recently examined the effects on performance of taking caffeine before lifting weights. They describe their subjects below:
                    “Fourteen resistance-trained men who were daily caffeine consumers participated in the study. They completed total body resistance training a minimum of 2 d/wk and had been training for 7.5 +/- 1.2 years (range = 2.5–18.0 years). They did not take any medications or supplements that alter muscular function. Mean age, height, body mass, and percent body fat (% BF) were equal to 23.1 +/- 1.1 years, 1.80 +/- 0.02 m, 83.4 +/- 3.53 kg, and 13.3 +/- 2.8%, respectively. From a 24-hour diet recall, average caffeine intake was equal to 218.2 +/- 28.1 mg/d, with a range of 120–500 mg/d.”
                    The subjects received a capsule containing either caffeine (6 mg/kg) or a placebo (methylcellulose) 30 minutes prior to performing a workout consisting of 4 sets each of barbell bench press, leg press, lat row and shoulder press using 70-80% of 1-RM. One week later, the subjects were given the other treatment (e.g. if they’d previously received caffeine, they were given the placebo) and repeated the same workout at the same time of day. The 6 mg/kg dose was selected based on reports that it can maximize blood levels of caffeine.
                    6 mg/kg sounds like a lot of caffeine to me, but I don’t take caffeine (no coffee, tea, or caffeine-containing supplements). In any case, was this dose enough to enhance strength in the study subjects? Not by much. When the subjects took caffeine, they managed to squeeze out only about 1.5 more reps on the first and second sets of leg press as compared to when they took the placebo. The authors described this improvement as “small and of little practical importance.” Nine out of 14 subjects experienced what the authors described as “meaningful” increases in total weight lifted (+ 7.2%) after receiving caffeine. Six out of these 9 subjects were heavy caffeine users, ingesting more than 225 mg per day. The authors suggested that these subjects may have experienced caffeine withdrawal symptoms and a decrease in performance during the placebo treatment, symptoms that were reduced by the caffeine treatment. In other words, caffeine simply returned the subjects’ performance level back to normal.
                    Here’s something else I found interesting: The authors remarked, “Only 4 of 14 (29%) subjects were able to correctly differentiate between the caffeine and placebo trial, because of feelings of ‘‘more energy,’’ ‘‘increased mood,’’ and ‘‘less fatigue.’’ Two participants reported feelings of nausea and anxiety during exercise in the caffeine trial.” At 6 mg/kg, I found this surprising.

                      Yes Ainbb insieme! Mario foto niente..non son bravo e non riesco a farne che dimostrino nè più nè meno la mia condizione , preferisco farla raccontare eventualmente da chi mi vede e ci capisce...oppure magari vedersi live alle gare , in allenamento o magari se capiterà in fiera!
